right some months after purchasing my car i found that the thing has no cats fitted. my question is now what cats can i fit, bearing in mind i have difillipo headers and wortec system on 04 cv8.
realised today as well i have a reciept for vauxhalls fitting the exhaust and headers, wouldn of thought a main dealer would be ok with de-catting a car

They probably did exactly what they were instructed to do. It should go pretty well though. I would be interested in getting it on a rolling road to see what the before and after figures are.

Go for hi flow cats to match what is undoubtedly a good system. Try Jetex they will make some to suit - www.jetex.co.uk. They are not particularly cheap but a very good company to deal with.

how strange to read your post

I bought my 04 cv8 from a main dealer in oxford and when I put it in for mot, it failed on emissions , reason, no cats !!!!

fortunately monkfish fitted me a pair within 2 days and the dealer stumped up 2/3rds of the cost.

So - I feel for you !!!!!!!!!

might be cheaper to have someone adjust the "map" on your car at 2500rpm to pass the emissions test....cough cough, or so I've heard.

ok on that score costs a few pints of guinness which cleared up the emissions fantasticly nudge nudge etc.
as for dealer nothey didnt do as they were told, the bloke that had the car before me stipulated he required the cats as he travelled internationally quite alot(didnt think that made a difference)
as for rr it pulled 379fwhp with headers no cats and the old style wortec system. now has the superceeded system on it with removable boxes of which have just been refitted just too loud to be starting up at 5 am every morning to go to work

Sounds about right. 05 CV8 with Catback wortec and tune should be nearing 400fwhp i've been told, so with a decat on the earlier ones (04 CV8)/(333 bhp) and headers and wortec and tune yes i would have thought that's right (IMHO but what do I know apart from what I read on here...hehe)
