Folks, not being as mechanically minded as many here some advice is required....I really am seriously contemplating trading in the ro for a new VXR8 if the deal is right. I know that the ls2 VXR8 could have something like the exhaust, remap, air filter from wortec/Monkfish, but is the same pac available for the LS3 and if so what kind of power would I be looking at. Also for future thinking is Supercharger etc the same?

Totally different heads, but same ECU and bolt on stuff like headers etc.
You would need a new type of charger, well maybe same rotors and top end, but different lower section that bolts to the heads.
You should look at the new eaton tvs rotors for that engine if you want a +ve displacement type.

Personally Id just put a cam in it, should be over 400rwhp cam only IMO.

Also is their any difference between the Walkinshaw performance pack (exhaust etc) and the Wortec Pack?

The LS3, as Rich said, has got a great set of big breathing heads and should have headers as well. That should be 430HP at the flywheel. A good cam could get you another 50 with a good tune. What else do you want? I personally would not need to do any more unless you really want to hot rod it. I would definitely go for suspension bushes for better handling, but it will stiffen up the ride as you get more feed back.

With the VXR8 it also has big brakes, but she's a heavy old girl.

Before you do any more, make a list of what it is that you want, power (will 480/500HP do?), handling (do you have to keep the Mrs and kids comfy?), noise (do you like your neighbors?), looks (Stealth or Carlos Fandango)? What about fuel economy.

Prioritise the list and then you can plan a logical upgrade path.

If it were me I'd do cam, catback and tune, bushes and diff housing. You would have a great all rounder and the good news is with the LS3, most of the work has already been done for you.

Let's see what the others suggest. When you price it up, you will find everyone has similar prices. It's a small market!!!!!!!! But Roger at Monkfish and his team are very helpful and knowledgeable.

You're right. I wanted, GM Hot cam kit, L92 heads, L76 intake, rockers, bolts, gaskets. They had none of it, having quoted me prices by e-mail, they then told me it would be more as they had to get it all in specially.

The prices they originally quoted was just a little bit more than getting from the states, so I was happy to pay that for the inconvenience factor. Put the extra cost on top of that and it wasn't.

I don't really know what it is they have in stock apart from a few crate motors.

Companies that do this kind of thing really piss me off!!!

Ive ordered from Summit and SDPC before no problem in the USA. Id prefer to buy local if the markup wasnt so bad. But most of that is down to Mr Vat & Shipping to be honest.

Best thing is to take a large suitcase and some heavy carry on baggage. I recon you can get a cylinder head each in your carry on smile

I don't think so Rich, just ordered a K&N today and because I wanted it quick it was the thick end of £60.

Stateside price for the same thing $39.95

Yeah, but try landing it here via the gestapo, shipping will be another $20 easy, then post office will charge vat on it plus their ransom money.
Next thing you know, cool, its £55 and you saved a fiver smile
