Been there done that when I was younger... didnt get caught though!
Speed on a bike comes about so easy that you cant say what a recklass rider, I could go from 100 leptons to past 200 in under 6 secs on my old bike and regulary did it! only on open clearish motorways or duel carriageways mind.
And the police are just as bad if not worse, listen to the comentary as some is b
ks, pure speculation as to speeds in 30 limits, granted its more than 30 but it aint the speeds he is saying!

Is there supposed to be something wrong with what he's doing?
Depend which rider you're talking about.You need the version with sound in order to fully assess - search for something like "sussex police 140mph biker" on Youtube. Here you go: [url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2PBMGmUjTE[/url}
Then ask yourself, whilst noting that the biker in front was riding dangerously and at excessive speed, why the BiB in pursuit found it necessary to pursue for 40-50 miles, at the same speeds, taking the same (or worse) risks, when the biker could have been stopped umpteen times in the interim. Not that he was enjoying his free run on an unmarked sportsbike. Dear me, no.
Or just go to another board on here (it's either in BB or SP&TL) and read page upon page of commments! Last week, I think it was.

On a couple of occasions you see the reflection of the police lights flashing on the back of cars that were being overtaken. So he knew he was being pursued

I'm surprised at the police rider pulling the stunts he was doing. It sort of proves that they aren't dangerous in the right circumstances. i'd have thought that stopping the chase would have been prudent if the biker was riding dangerously, clearly he was fast but not dangerous?
Having read the other forum it appears this was an operation in response to complaints over a period of time about the biker. They had concerns he would not stop so had plans to wait until he stopped to deal with him.Bike pursuits are difficult to justify due to the massive danger to the rider.
HaHa, I love all these bollox video chases.. Points already been made, if it's so dangerous why did the plod continue on, riding in exactly the same manner, (worse in some places).. Oh, I forgot, they're all 'highly trained' aren't they (so obviously better than us mere mortals!!)..
I've ridden with enough police riders and instructors over the years to know just how good (or not) they are. Only comment on the other rider is that he should have clocked plod and lost him if he was any good.....

Lets face it, the Rozzers love a good chase and because of the video evidence they don't have to write up so much in a report
It's funny looking back over the years (which I can) to see how much focus is now targeted at road users rather than regular crime, but as the old saying goes....."Crime doesn't pay" ...... (but middle class road users do)

To be fair it is bikers and car drivers acting like that who have ruined hoons for everyone else. He and similar car drivers pick the wrong time and place and the sooner they are off the road he sooner the responsible bikers and drivers who want to make a little more progression at the right times will be left alone. Biker in vid was a crash waiting to happen, the speeds he did in the built up bits on a weekday with lots of people about were silly.

It is a shame as in that area are some far more entertaining roads.
