well chaps, forget A-Plan for insurance. 2 months ago I got a quote for about 900 for my VXR8 with SC (wortec pack). Today its gone up to 1500 quid!. $£%£$%£$ to that!. mad

I think they may have lost a particular under writer that provided these good quotes.

Im going to call Adrian Flux tomorrow. Any others???

Rubbish.
They pay for their stickies and ads and in my opinion are still good value for many people.
Bloody good service too.

Same here, mine went up, I got it for less than half the price from Greenlight insurance (Have used them before) underwriter is Highway/Markerstudy IIRC.
Over 1500 to under 700 Inner London postcode and business miles.

just had quote of £872 with Greenlight so I'm going with that. This is with Wortec SC and power pack. Rock on!!!

As said those with A-Plan may well be shocked when they renew.

Was quoted £928 yesterday, by a-plan, about £70 cheaper than last year with them. They're the cheapest for me by a mile. Greenlight don't want to touch the WAx postcodes for some reason.

No idea how my renewal is going to come in but A Plans handling of my accident has been first class.

Very easy to talk to, and chased the engineers when the valuations where needed. Got my money paid to me for my accident nice and quick. Will see how well they handle the claims from the passengers in my car in the next few weeks.

Hopefully I'll just simply get the initial letters from them and then A Plan will simply take it all away and protect me from all the rubbish that goes with it.

But so far I have been impressed with their after accident service, and as such would happily recommend them and will use again in the future.

yes I did the handle ages ago, just had to re-log in and it changed!!!........no sc yet cannot warrant 7.5k on a compressor!.......I am getting a fast cam kit and some headers, do you think they will be worth it ???

You already have headers from what I remember? Cam yes, there are some crackers about, be careful and decide what exactly you want though. "HP sells engines - Torque wins races". Depending on the combo, 30-50HP with your heads and intake and tune if the cam is a big one. Big one will need HD springs etc and tune, check your pushrod size. This is the weakest link when you've done the rest.

Had a couple of quotes from A PLan in the past and they were a long way outside anything I'd call competitive. At the time I had a clean licence and one fairly minor accident claim. Car standard.

I insured via Admiral multi-car and got the Monaro and a Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo Plus (group 19 car, I think) on the same policy, 2 drivers, for about £850 which I thought was a bargain, considering that I now have 2 accident claims and an SP30. They will also add the missus' Polo for about £100 when it's due for renewal.
