Thinking of taking the plunge on an '8 but the one I test drove (at a vauxhall dealer) had really pronounced clutch judder? I'm talking about moving off with little/no throttle and big vibrations that you can feel even sitting in the back. It feels like the clutch slipping and gripping. 08 plate with 10k miles smile

Normal or not? Had a tiny amount on the monaro but thats on the original clutch at 60k miles and no-where near as bad!

Any comments appreciated.

Not normal. Should be smooth like any other car.

Buy one, there good! And good deals to be had right now.

Zero shudder with mine. Should be a warranty replacement in any case, especially with network q. Though it might suggest a less than careful first owner. Could be a good point of negotiation smile

My Monaro had clutch judder when new. Vauxhall changed the clutch at 450 miles for a better one but still no where near perfect. I changed it again at 23K while swapping the gearbox. Again better but can't say it is perfect. Removed one clearly had asymmetric wear. Made by Luk in Rotherham. Enough said.

Walk away...

Something is out of alignment on that one. Get them to fix it and try it again or get another. There's plenty of choice at the moment, and the worsening recession will (about time too!) favour the thrifty ones with cash in the bank.

This is what you want, triple plate Tilton carbon clutch smile

Total weight under 10kg, save over 20kg in weight. Apparently takes a jolly hammering too.
Only $6500 USD!

Thanks guys, Another VXR8 with exactly the same spec (Wortec switchable exhaust!) has turned up at another dealer with half the mileage for only 500 quid extra!

See what they'll give for my Px. Other dealer has offered 1.5k above book price for the Mini, so its all relative I guess?

Thats a beautiful clutch but i'm not too sure the wife will appreciate having a wearing component that costs more than 10% of the car! biggrin
