Mind you crate engines are bloody good value for money. Id guess it would be around $20k USD with the blower etc. Based on $13k for the LS7

they must be a point in time where a crate LS9 will be cheaper than super charging an LS3???

I can see the point in both, def somthing cool bout one off creation but also something bout having engine called an LS9!

lest you also forget the charge cooler is location on top and I think there is a hole in the bonnet to suit. So unless you like weird bonnets there isnt much point going with the LS9 in corvette format anyway. I think the equivalent in the CTS is called an LSA, it might be the better engine for crate users..

Judging by the price of the LS7 compared to other crates, I don't think they will be affordable anytime soon. You could just get and LS3 and supercharge it. When the LS9 gets around I expect the crate LS7 will come down in price accordingly.

The LS9 is a LS3 block, with LS7 heads, and a blower. That is all that it really is.

They are not LS7 heads for a start, then there are the forgings which you fail to mention etc..
