Lighting question

Anyone experienced an arcing sound from the lightswitch when turning on the headlights? I recently fitted HIDS and noticed this so I tried wiring the HIDS through a relay, the only difference now is that the arcing only occurs when switching on the headlights with the engine running.

Trust me I'm no expert but the only sound you should get from a light switch is a mechanical sound as the switch turns. If you think you can hear some kind of arching sound then the switch must be burning, it may even smell of burning in due course. best check the wiring again before it starts to cost £££

HID ballasts make a lot of noise when the bulbs are warming up, it could be that, maybe.

Thanks for your response. Since my initial posting I have rewired the HID's through relays and to my surprise nothing changed. The crackling appears to be coming through the ICE speakers so it appears some sort of filter is required, anyone got any suggestions???? Also want to swap the steering wheel airbag...any experience out there???
