Under acceleration I get a noise coming up the gearstick. I had similar on a M5 and BMW replaced the gear knob saying the damper in the knob had failed.
Any thoughts - it’s just a resonance rather than anything too loud.
undo the gater and pull nob off by lifting straight up. Smear some silicon sealant on the shaft, especially the top in the notch etc. Then refit nob.. let it set and retest. At least that's normal process for aftermarket shifters.
