I would be supprised if no one did leak a bit after that hit, but the thing is they walked away from it. Don't think I saw any hands, and legs or bits of brains anywhere.

Ha... it is in adelaide, australia...

Here is the rest of the story...

A YOUNG man wrecked a Ferrari worth a quarter of a million dollars, but escaped serious injury, when he crashed into a Stobie pole at Walkerville today.

The driver and his passenger have been taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment after the accident just before noon.

Both men walked from the wreckage, leaving the expensive five-year-old 360 Modena model literally wrapped around the pole on Lansdowne Ave.

The car, valued at around $250,000, crashed a few minutes after residents saw it "zinging" past their homes at high speed.

See the amazing crash pictures

"I was outside my house talking and we heard something fly up and it was this black Ferrari," said Vlado, who did not give his surname.

"It sounded just like, `zing, zing", as it want past."

Vlado said he walked "two blocks" around the corner when he saw a fire truck arrive to see the Ferrari smashed against the pole.

He said the men were "lucky to be alive".

"The Stobie split the car in two and it's basically up where the gear stick should be," he said.

Ive got no sympathy to be honest, posh bastards racing in a suburb.
I saw a young lad die last week in front of me when he ran his car straight into the road two cars ahead of me. Really makes you take a step back and realise the majority of people are bad road drivers whether young and inexperienced or old and set in your ways. Not that I ever speed we are all guilty, but its made me x10 more aware if I want to overtake etc.

Ps this kid didnt even have a belt on.... Buckle up

It would be pretty bad to see someone die. The way I look at it though, it would be more devastating if the idiot had hurt someone else. That is what I disagree with more. OK, it is pretty bad that he died, and wouldn't get a chance to learn from his stupid mistake, but atleast he won't have a chance to hurt anyone else. I guess he paid the ultimate price....

It amazes me when I go back home, to see how much better things are. You wouldn't even dream of doing anything stupid, because there are cops everywhere eager to give you a ticket. I see it all the time, with Chav's and their 1.0 Litre corsa's driving it like it is a sports car. That is why I have made the Mrs now drive the Monaro, and we got rid of her small car. It isn't her driving that I am worried about, it is all the other idiots on the road.

Indeed! Cops in Australia are much more on the ball whether it be speeding or drunken behaviour. They have much more inforcement around school and built up areas, something the police here fail to achieve. I got caught as I was exiting a build up area doing 35mph, compared to anyone else entering doing the same speed. Very bizzare, I could go on allday....

Bit puzzled by the last 2 posts confused Driving standards in Australia are abysmal compared to most other countries, and particularly England. It is an absolute pleasure to drive in England compared to here.

As for the cops... yep, they enforce the stupidly low limits ruthlessly. In fact that is all they do, collect revenue the easiest way and ignore actual dangerous driving.

This has reinforced the belief among the morons that as long as they aren't speeding, they are fine. Be aggresive, ignorant, innattentive, doesn't matter, I'm below the speed limit rolleyes

Interesting you highlighted YOUNG, I say this because I was involved in a very serious RTA 8 years ago in which the press painted a different picture to what happend. Highlighted a YOUNG man with an 18 YEAR OLD FEMALE passenger driving a black SPORTS car was involved in a head on colition with a 28 year old family man driving a ford escort.

What they didnt say was said family man had actually been reported for dangerous driving, had overtook an oncoming truck and hit me head on nearly killing me and my passenger. Be careful what you highlight

Didn't highlight anything, I just did a cut and paste from the website. Think that is how they do it in the newspapers, if the starting word is a A, or THE, the next word is capitalised. Ah yeah, take with a grain of sand what a journalist sounds. Definitely don't let the truth get in the way of a great story.

Where in Oz are you comparing it to though? Saw so many stupid things again on the way to work this morning. Idiots joining the motor way wanting to race to get in front of a truck. Not sure where you are in Oz, but where I have been, if you don't indicate and you get spotted by the cops you get pulled up. I do like the idea of having police on the roads, and in the cases I have see, you drive like and idiot you are gonna get pulled. Most of the worse driving I have seen here in the UK are from Police officers!! Going to set up a video thing like Noose...

I thought that when i read it yesterday. I realise Toprivetgun didn't mean anything by in this case but people do seem to gloat when discussing incidents involving nice cars. Especially the likes of Ferrari, Porsche etc. We found that when we had the Boxster S. We were called Wankers on a few occasions. If we can afford a nice car its because we've worked hard for it. Strange though that we don't get the same response whilst driving the Monaro even though it cost almost the same new as the Porsche. There's nothing stranger then folk

I think it is more of a case, not because they are posh cars, but rather, they are powerful cars, and in such a case can get you into a lot of trouble very very quickly. It is pretty crazy, when people aren't use to powerful cars, and push the envelope without knowing how to hand the car. It was a good 3 months and ALOT of driving before I started to even think about pushing the Monaro. I got to learn how it handled, and how it responded. I didn't get straight in it, as alot of people do, hammer the shit out of it, and then have a stacker. I think what happens is that when people buy the more upmarket brands they buy them because they have the money, yet don't necessarily have obtained the skills to handle them. It is a very dangerous situation to be in I think. When younger drivers are involved, they think they know everything, and hence a very dangerous mixture of high performance car, someone who doesn't know how to handle something, and general responsibility really.

I think it is a thing though, that I notice alot of, is that people who have porsches buy them more for the pose value than anything, and performance comes as a secondary. I bought the monaro, and the holdens because I like them. Not because there is some posing value with them. People tend to associate some brands with people showing off their money, and porsche, BMW, and merc being those type of brands. Besides, these "battlers" of our society, are battlers because they are lazy, and don't want to do anything for themselves, and hence can't afford to have nice cars. Everyone has choices, it just depends on the sacrifices people want to make. If you don't go out, drink, spend all your money, heat your house, eat, everyone could afford to drive around in porches..

I never found driving a porche very easy. The letter box just kept getting in the way
I know what your saying but making assumptions as lots of people do that because we have fast cars that we are a danger is wrong. Personally i find driving a "normal" car i.e 2 litre quite dangerous. I find it reassuring that i have the power when i need it. I posted the other week that I'd had to use Col's sons 1.4 306 and was terrified when i got went to exit an island and didn't go anywhere. I don't really floor the Monaro any more than i used to floor the Porsche. Regardless of the name i just liked the way the cars looked and performed. Simple as that.

I have no tolerance for anyone speeding up and down a suburb road wheter it be a young individual, someone who has saved up long and hard for a decent car or someone who wishes to show off. Long and short of this story someone was showing off up and down the street whilst in the Ferrari and I apoligize using the term P**h bastard. I dont mean to stereotype. Its not until you see someone die infront of you due to careless driving, your whole approach to driving changes. Neither me or anyone else are perfect drivers and each day we take a risk. No doubt better awareness to safer driving is needed and harsher penalties to deter people from speeding, drink driving etc again.
