Hi all

First of all would just like to say a big hello, recently purchased my Monaro VXR and loving every minute it, unfortuantly i have a couple of minor problems.

I understand that the Monaro lights should turn off, when you leave/locking the car, and i am aware that there are a couple of options you can adjust in a menu, which i have done. I have also set the settings back to factory but still my lights remain on when leaving the car.

Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you overcome it. Hopefully something minor, dont really want to take it to the gargage if not required.

Many thanks in advance

If you have the lights set to auto they should turn off when you open the drivers door, If they dont the door courtesy light switch is probably sticking or dirty. i removed mine and checked it out and its been fine since.

Same here... mine were staying on for a while. Cleaned up the door switch and all good.

Many thanks guys.

I should have mentioned its the main headlights that dont turn off, the courtesy lights are fine, and also the dash remains illuminated, i have changed the settings around but seems to only work 1 out of 10 times?

Any ideas?

Anyhow, welcome to the crew. Hope you get the problem fixed, but we do seem to have a variety of electrical gremlins - driving the car usually makes up for them!

When you open the door, near where the hinges are, down the bottom, there is a little push in switch.

The grey plastic plunger screwed to the door hinge post of the bodywork which gets pushed in/out when you open/close the door

just to check the routine, your headlamp switch is on auto your lights are on and you pull up and turn the ignition off(your headlamps should still be on at this point) you remove the key and open the drivers door to get out and the headlamp, radio, and a few other lights should go out(unless you have set a timed delay in the menu in wich case the lights turn off when the delayed time is reached)

Yep thats right.

I have set the radio etc to switch off when i turn off the ignition, but have set the lights to turn off as soon as i lock the car, but dont seem to be doing what i ask.

I have tried sitting in the car and locking it without getting out and it still doesnt work.

Got the same problem with the avalanche... have absolutely no idea what the hell is going on with it. The lights seem to stay on constant no matter what. Thinking that maybe there is a fuse that is gone somewhere, will try and investigate and let you know.
