Yes I just realized that but I don't think I can change the title frown

That would make an excellent base for some tuning smile

What it is, is the engine fitted to various Holden Commodores and SS Utes. It is the 6.0 litre LS2 bottom end with Chev L92 heads and L76 intake. As standard they make about 270kW (detuned so as not to embarass some HSV offerings).

Have a look at what they are going for in Australia:

www.holmart.com.au

Price there is AU$3627. Shipping is around AU$500. You would have to add 10% import duty and 17.5% VAT. Dollar was 2.48 earlier today.

By the way these are very good high flowing heads, far superior to the heads fitted to LS1 and LS2 motors.

OMG yikes

So: AU$3627 + AU$500 (shipping)
= AU$4127 = £1769.10 GBP
+ 10% = £1946.01
+ 25%, £486.50 (VAT)
Grand total = !! £2432.51 SHIPPED !!

Please tell me I got that wrong eek

I would research it very thoughly before buying one on ebay . When a deal seems to good to be true it's normaly is. Any one that will ship and sort out you import duties and vat from Austraila and include it in the price must have bought it for an unbleaviable price in the first place.

Then I have this vision of someone at the docks in seven weeks time looking for a crate that either does not exsist or owes hundreds in taxes, and the sellers are seven weeks down the road.So buyer be very carfull.

wouldn't have any problem with buying from Holmart but that other mob on ebay I'd be careful with just because of past experience with deals that turned out to be "too good to be true".

Yes forget the ebay add; it was the Holmart price that makes it worth looking at. I don't have my SS anymore, but I do have a project car bought specifically for a transplant. It's an 86 Opel Monza 3.0 GTE which was 'Shed of the Week' six months ago on here and its just begging for an LSx biggrin
