Just a random thread to see what sort of tyre pressures people generally run on.

Lots of talk of different tyres and peoples experiences but then mention of how they can feel better or worse at different pressures.

So the question to you is; what size wheel do you have and then what pressure do you normally run?

read my mind only i thought my comments might start the debate in the tyre thread.
235/40/18 36 psi, 255/35/18 40 psi
Generally i find the wider profiles like a few extra psi to firm things up.

I wanted to try and keep it out of there smile

It already seems my standard 33psi (on 18s) is a bit low compaired to others. First time I checked them from getting this one and they where all at 30psi, 33 has helped its wandering type feel it had but I see a road responce pack coming. smile

Maybe trying some higher pressures very soon.

RRP (including wheel alignment) will stop the wandering, but the main reason (please correct me if i am wrong) for it is to improve turn in and as suggested in the title, response - it gives the steering a tighter feel when you turn in.
At the speeds you could experience tyre wandering, i don't think "turning in" with gusto would be an option anyway!

Thats my understanding as well, which is all good, my driving is either motorway (which is where i get the un-nerving wander - maybe this is exaggerated in my head from the crash I had) or on country lanes off into the back of beyond.

So all in all think its the right mod for me.

But for now I can see me putting in a few extra psi to take it up a bit more since I seem to be well down compared to you guys.

Increasing pressure on the fronts will increase oversteer. Lower pressures on front, car will push more.

245 35 19 I use 40 psi.
