I have had today appear on my dash the check engine warning indicator

Anyone know what this relates to as the manual has no information about it what so ever?

Thanks

It means that the ECU has detected some kind of problem and stored a DTC (diagnostic trouble code). You will need to have the codes read from the computer and they will tell you what the issue is. It could be anything from a bad coolant temperature sensor to and inoperative cat or O2 sensor. Have the codes read, saves guesswork and fixing things that are fine.

Welcome to Monaro ownership. You aren't really part of the club until you've seen this a few times. If it clears then I'd not worry. If it hangs around then get it checked.

If I stop the engine after a hard drive and start the car again shortly after, I occasionally see this. I've plugged an OBD-2 device in at the next possible convenience and never found any DTCs to read.

I've heard of many other people having similar issues, so I wouldn't worry about it unless you find flames exploding from under the bonnet.

It'll be fiiiiine
