Touch-up Paint - Mythical or Real?

I'm leaning toward mythical at the moment. Knowing that paint is difficult to get hold of for these cars I placed orders for some Phantom Black paint at two Vaux. garages at about the same time.

Well, after seeing yet more chips washing the car today I just remembered that I'd done that...

...and that I'd placed the orders very nearly a year ago. I did chase up one of the places a few months ago and was told the paint was still on back order.

Needless to say I doubt I'll ever be seeing any paint arriving this side of the next ice-age. Can anyone give me any ideas on where to go here? Or do I ask a friend in NZ to walk into a Holden dealership?

i feel quite chuffed i managed to get non matiching red hsv paint now from my local vx dealer

I've also had some on order since I bought the car over a year ago.

In the meantime i've touched up my front bumper by getting my friendly local bodyshop to mix up some paint. Don't have to get the paint from Vauxhall or Holden, anyone can mix it up with the paint code (found on the chassis plate). Will at least be good enough for touch-up.

Makes a Change for me to be able to help. I bought a 100mil bottle of Holts dupli color, in OPAL 690F PHANTOM BLACK. Wait for it. HALFORDS:-)

You can get any colour over the counter at Halfords

I got my Phantom Black from Belingers - they had it in 5 days and posted it to my home

You be wasting his time. I was told that due to quality problems with the packaging it was unavailable. That was in Wellington (HSV dealers) in March this year.

Got mine through a non VXR specialist... although my cousin worked there at the time... it took 3 months
