Oddysey Blue colour match.........
Discussion
As an update to a discussion on here about a month ago.......
I've just taken my Ro to the local Vauxhall bodyshop to get the damage to the bonnet repaired where some pillock from work reversed the van into it.
Whilst there i asked the foreman about colour matching paints etc, and he said that they blend their own paints on site, from the paintcode using DUPONT paints - and that they don't sell it to the public.
I miss the Monaro already
, the courtesy car they lent me is a diesel Corsa and it is F*****g horrible! Still, when i get the Ro back it'll be mint because it's body repairs will be sorted, last week it had new tyres fitted, and yesterday it went to Monkfish for a service, gearbox oil change and fresh brake and clutch fluid too.

remember on touch up paints or even paint out of a can will come out totally different if it's too thick. if you are filling in a stone chip it needs layers of paint not a blob, my sprayer recommended a "one hair" brush or a small atomiser/sprayer to get the paint thin enough.
Ps
Please ignore this if your car is black. black is black is black. easy.

much better thankyou, I went to the hospital today and they let me take my cast off my right arm so I'm now cast free. I'm going back in 6 weeks for another x-ray to see if it has healed properly but for the moment I need to take it easy as it's still metal and partially formed bone/jelly holding it together.

Wormus did you have to share the "Jelly" bit with me
I now have a vision of the inside of your arm
Seriously glad your feeling better. It's been a nightmare for you i bet
Anyway I'm looking forward to meeting the beast at the strip sometime next year

someone suggested using a toothpick to dab the paint on for stonechips, I've tried it and it does actually work reasonably well and yes its better to put it on in thin layers. Spray into lid of can and dip the pick into the paint being careful not to overload it, when you then touch it to the chip the paint flows off the pick and into the chip filling to the edges quite neatly. Also invested in a product similar to Meguiars Scratch X but it comes in two tubes with some 2500 grit sandpaper, if you do "overfill" the chip it can be used to buff it down and then use the two polishes to blend it all in again.

Well.......got my car back from the Vauxhall bodyshop (Sherwoods of Stockton), and they've done a superb job - no problem at all with the colour match for the Odyssey Blue paintwork. My car is tip-top again now.
