Wrote this out once but it hasn't appeared. Anyway short version.
gravel drive on a hill, reversing up it, wheels slip, engine "loses" power and i have to dip clutch and rev engine to stop it stalling. repeat process, untill i get to top of hill and see 5-6 furrows on my driveway.
Is there any TC in reverse or is it just my crap clutch control? (don't want to rev engine as normally really early starts so just (cold) tick over or just slightly more)

Can't you reverse into the parking place instead? Then you could drive out in first or second gear which are as low as reverse gear.

Thats what i normally do, and all is fine. reason is the "hump" between the flat pavement and my slope means the exhaust catches, so i've been trying different angles of approach etc...
Just wanted to know if TC is cutting in thats all!

Yep, TC cuts in in reverse. However, if the TC cuts in while you have cruise active, it turns the cruise off - - slightly off topic that last bit I know

Erm, don't really see the problem here!! You just turn the TC off..

Muppet, it would have to be some drive to warrant cruise control.. laugh

Now theres a thought, does Cruise Control work in reverse???
Only kidding, Monnington will give it a go later and see. Didn't really think about turning it off as i didn't know if it was "on" if you see what i mean!
Thanks

It's always on by default, I often switch mine off if I'm "driving" (rather than just "going somewhere") as I hate the way it cuts in when you've got the car nicely balanced mid corner, you've got to anticipate it and be ready to add steering lock quickly...

what the ***k, crap clutch control I think, cruise control in reverse. You all pissed, like me. This is funny. Try reversing a Knaus motorhome up a steep drive, new motorhome and burning clutch, reverse is like third gear.

How do you turn the traction control off forever, roger.

You can buy a inverter switch that plugs in between the switch and cable. Turns to default to OFF. Press T/C to turn on. They pop up once in a while on ebay. Have a search on ls1gto.com

Well tried it without TC off and no difference.
Engines always cold and using small throttle openenings, so it does "hunt" quite a bit, that is why I put more revs on and then get the wheel spin.
Any idea how to stop it hunting quite as much other than rev the nuts off it?
