As i found out the other day the spare wheel does not clear the new calipers, which is a pain.

What have other people used to overcome this, as at some point i need to send one of my alloys off for a refurb?

Many thanks

When I bought mine it had a can of tyre weld in the boot along with the spacesaver wheel. I'm guessing that'll have to do. I've read on here that the spacesaver will fit over the rear calipers, so if a front tyre goes, you have to swap wheel over to the front so you can fit the SS on the back. It may be the other way round though. I'm sure someone will come along to clarify.

I think this only works on the VXR's though. If you have a CV8 I don't think it fits anywhere.

I was thinking about getting another 18" CV8 wheel as a spare, but discovered that it won't fit in the boot, let alone the spare wheel resevoir lol. Oh well!

You need an 18" space saver, as fitted into 04 VXRs

I found this out the hard way when hitting an object in the road & trashing the front OS wheel. The space-saver is in the garage along with the spare set of wheels & tyres.

Not the most ideal situation I'll admit.

There's nothing like planning ahead...

Not unusual to see 19" wheels sold singly. Keep your eyes peeled when you are ready for refurb time.

Swap the wheel from the rear to one that needs refurbing on the front and put the spacesaver on the rear.
