That old gearbox gremlin has claimed another victim.
I was driving along about 40mph changed into 5th all was good, went to change down about ½ mile later and that was it kaput, locked solid in 5th.
I pulled over ASAP and with some effort managed to get neutral, I now have neutral and 5th, it looks like a trip to Milton Keynes for the old girl is on the cards.

From what I hear its normally not too bad, selector forks screw up. Early ones were made from paper fibre!
New synchro's and selectors and all should be well

Mine crunches slightly when stone cold going from 1st - 2nd if you move to fast but is perfect once warmed up - I assume this is normal with the tractor box fitted. Was thinking about changing the oil and putting Slick 50 in it as this has worked wonders on other boxes...?

Mine is exactly the same between 1st and 2nd......even after an oil change on the gearbox. But i've just come to accept that a slow gearchange is part and parcel of Ro ownership! smile

Mine was good as gold until yesterday no cruching at all that I noticed anyway, the only thing that was a bit of a PITA was getting into reverse when cold.

The thread below suggest the T56 is a bit fussy on oil.
