Like it says what is it supposed to be on a LS2 6 litre vxr and how do you adjust it?

800 in the vxr8 IIRC
You change it with a tune tool like efilive or similar.

Could be 600 if its an auto. Why do you need to alter it, have you just done a cam change?
I had this problem with mine (lumpy tickover with a new cam), but as Ringram says, I used my efilive to reprogram the ECU to get a decent idle. There is more to it than just increasing the idle speed, but if that all you want you could try Vauxhall or RapidGB (Think they have one) and see if they can do what you want with a Tech II.

Mark at Rapid uses efilive too so has pretty much full control.
Actually Comp Cams use efilive for their development too

Thanks for the replies chaps. I've just bought a Monaro LS2 vxr and I think it ticks over a bit high about 850,but from what you say maybe that's all right. I haven't got the car on the road yet, so I'll have to wait and see what it's like once its had a bit of a run and settles down.

850 sounds right to me, I've got an LS2. What seems to be the problem with that?

I wasn't sure if there was a problem. I just wanted to check. I thought maybe 850 was a bit high for a big V8.

Used to be lower with the older ls1's but I think its for idle emissions.
