My toolbox... used 4 drill bits, push in, wiggle a bit and pull out. Note the rear electrical connector is what stops it coming out easy once the drills are pressed in to push the tabs back as its quite a tight fitting plug. I can picture the radio out if that helps...? Mines sat on the coffee table in the lounge!

Cheers mate, I'm back down to the w'shop to try it, although I'll probably use four welding rods if you only have to push them in.

Ah, I was waiting to ask the same question, assuming Santa brings me the in-line FM modulator which I carefully pointed out!

I picked up a set of these from my Halfrauds equivalent type shop in town. Halfrauds didnt sell anything like them at all.

These worked a treat.

I tried with four screwdrivers but couldnt get enough grip to pull the unit out.

Four short lengths of wire and it worked very well, had to take mine out today to take dashboard facia off and change head unit to mph...

I have a pair in my toolbox - you can borrow them if you want.

Post a note on here by lunchtime and I could pop them in the post.

Thanks for the thought. All done and dusted now. Welding rods it was.
