I've had contact with one dealer about their ex-demo: £34k was the offer.

I feel this is way too high in the present economic climate and with the state of the car trade. I have not seen any LS3 version offered for sale yet - is it too early?

hahahaha... thats hysterical. Way too high. I paid less than that for a brand spanking new 0 mileage new LS2 vxr8 (with walkingshaw exhaust) way back in sept 07 whrn things were considered to be "ok".

Considering new car sales are in free fall I'd expect to pay no more than 30 and thats at a push. Remember ex-demo's are treated like rental cars so it's not the same as a well looked after car.

Don't get me wrong - I've bought ex demo cars before (although I did know the dealers very well and had a printout from the ecu confirming how it had been run) but just don't pay over the odds for one. If they claim it's because it's fully spec'd up then thats irrelevant - esp in the vxr8. The only options really available are the 20" wheels, sat nav and exhaust. All of which were being put on ls2's for free earlier this year.

Well you can buy an LS2 one now for £17k so £32 for and LS3 which considering the crate engines are pretty much the same price is too much. Perhaps consider buying the LS2 and do a few mods to it?

A wise owl pointed out to me that Vauxhall have still to sell the remainder of their first boatload of VXR8`s from OZ.

And there`s more on their way

Bargain anyone.............

I am tempted to swap out my CV8 with prices coming down all the time. In two minds though because I think the old Monaro is a bit of a classic.

I have to admit I wouild like to get a good deal on a VXR8, only two things are stopping me, the thought of finance at this time, and the real reason ... I can't help my self but I love the shape of the Monaro, If I sell it I just Know I will regret it. I had a Dodge Challenger years ago and I sold it to get..married!!!! I still dream about that car now ..no really I actually dream about a dam car!!!!!In the years to come Monaro's will be very sought after, and the way they are being crashed at the moment even more rare.....so if you have one look after it. oh about my other problems..have you ever had a dream when you..er maybe not?

I have had wild thoughts about buying a low mileage yellow CV8 and putting it up for a bit.

(Waiting for the prices to drop more before I do though)
