Looking at buying

I’m looking at buying myself a nice monaro after xmas. I have done a lot of research on here so thank you to all of you that have posted you problems issues and tips. but I have one remaining question I can think of.

Is the monaro engine belt or chain driven?

can anyone answer?

plus if anyone can think of any good buying tips send them my way.

I hate pushy dealers. Have you had a look on the classifieds here? You would get better value buying from an enthusiast who's lost his way/wallet.

I pass two near me every day, one CV8 and one red o7 vxr, but I'm afraid the "stealer" is quite unrealistic on his prices.

i also found this issue. the dealer is pushy as after some digging found its been kicking around since June in his showroom and now just wants rid of it.. and not a bad price either. im only after a CV8

im gonna go see him after xams day.

Has anybody looked at that 5.7 silver vxr thats up for £12995 with 38k. Its been up for sale since I bought mine in may. I think its in bury or burnley.

yeah only. don't fancy a VXR. plus the CV8 does not stand out to much so PC plod wont pay to much attention lol

yeah tell me aobut it. but i have found one. and not so far from me. just upsetting the dealer currently.

Beware, if you are thinking of supercharging they are sods to get more power out of I *think* because they have the electric throttle body. The cable operated throttles of the earlier model respond much better. Only now everything on mine has been replaced (inc 101mm PWR TB) does it go like it really should.

no plans for supercharging in the near future im just going ot run her stock for the time being.

by the time i look into supercharging there may be enough scrapped cars to get parts. lol
