Was it only one dealership that supplied the vxr 500's and how does the warranty work with another dealership. Is the car fully covered ?

One more scenario , if the supercharger was an optional extra from vauxhall would the car still be under full manuafacturers warranty ?

Thanks

VXR500 is just like any other Vauxhall Monaro. Fight with the dealer of your choosing to get them to replace things, like brakes, and repaint bits, like door handles.

There has not really been an s/c optional extra from Vauxhall as such. Wortec is a common install and they warranty the s/c bits. Vauxhall will cover the rest most of the time. RapidGB will also blow your Monaro and so will Walkinshaw Performance these days.

As far as I'm aware the vxr 500 was only produced and supplied by Greens Vauxhall. The mods were done by a Vauxhall dealer and therefore were still covered by the Vauxhall warranty.

Correct, only Green's supplied the 500. There is 14 of them if you do not count the one in the museum. Service can be done at any Monaro rated Vauxhall agent (There are three if I remember correctly - Kent, Oxfordshire and Northants way?) A standard Vauxhall agent will not touch warrantee work. To get call-back done on a seat issue I had to get Vauxhall's Service Director to authorise a standard agent to change a spring in the seat!

The big issue is the AP brake discs if you had them fitted as I did. AP have fallen out with Vauxhall big time and you end up as the meat in the sarny. Yesterday, to try and clear the blockage on getting my discs fixed, I sent a 'legal' letter to Green's as the contract is with them as the seller not AP.

The other issue is the fuel you use getting to one of these agents if they are not near you! £80 every time I go to Green's.

Other than that a 500 is a mind-f*** to drive as long as you don't mind being gawped at eveywhere you go and every boy-racer thinking he can beat a 500BHP supercharged V8 in a straight line.
