Just been trying to order some parts (wiper arm/pivot) from Greens and was told they are not allowed to order any parts from Vauxhall as they supposedly have not paid their bills.

I guess trying to have them complete the warranty work they started is 'up the spout', then. Just arranged with MotorBodies in Luton to handle it.

Oh...not looking good for them.
Genuinely hope they keep going, I've always had superb, friendly service from them, right from when Brian was dealer principal and Jeff was in charge of the workshop through to recently when they let me have a VXR8 as a loan car.

I know times is 'ard and merket forces are market forces but they were/are pioneers of the V8's and VXR's in the UK and it'd be a tragedy to see them go under.

Shame but a sign of the times and the tip of a huge iceberg that's on it way, IMHO.

As publically said when the rent bills start coming through in the new year people will start going under. Countless numbers of garages already gone under in the North East and a huge number potentially on the way out.

Not really. As the recession deepens into depression we might see petrol prices down to 60p a litre again and that's great news for petrolheads with money in the bank earning no interest and wondering what to do with it.

Maybe a VXR8 from the administrators sales as well?

As for being doomed, that happened in 1997 when Gordon's lot got in and set about re-distributing the wealth of the real "hard working families".

Andy, have you used Underwoods for servicing? I originally bought the 'ro from Underwoods but have always had the servicing done at Greens.

I've got the Wortec zorst and remap...does anyone know if this has any impact on servicing for a 'regular' dealers like Underwoods?

With the apparent demise of Greens, I was considering Monkfish but Underwoods is a lot closer. (I'm expecting the majority here to say Monkfish ears. )

Cheers.

If any dealer doesn't want to service your car because it has been modified, take your buisness elsewhere! There are still a handful who try this trick, but they dont have a leg to stand on. Wouldn't have thought they could afford to turn work away?

Luton is closer to me than Greens is/was. Went there because they were excellent (until a certain Mr. C.A.Spy left )

There are comments in the local paper (link posted elsewhere here) that all cars have been removed from both sites apart from one Merc at the Holboro site (odd). Nobody is answering the phones, and although someone from the dealership did apparently call the paper to advise that all cars were being removed by transporter, no further comment has been forthcoming.

Personally, I'd say that unless they are re-launching under a different manufacturer's franchise, they've gone. Either way, looks very much like they've gone from a Vaux perspective.

Nothing official yet........

I have a couple of people who have said they will give me an official answer when available.

It does not look good for a once excellent dealer........
