All the same base engine (LS1) Power changes are via Intake, exhaust and tune changes.

Thanks for the quick answer!

So to make 328hp 2004 monaro have VXR power will need exhaust, induction and a remap?

I am asking because I am looking into buying a 2004 but want more power cheap.

Thanks

From 2004 CV8 to 2004 VXR you need CAI, Maf pipe, short headers, exhaust and map

I am not clued up with the difs yet.

Does the vxr diff make the gears longer or shorter?

Shorter, ie sacrifices top speed for acceleration. You'd be hard pushed to notice the difference imho

Thats ok then, I don't have to bother with the diff.

Thanks

As the man says hard to notice unless you have driven hundreds of Monaros......driving

3.91 is a good upgrade on lower powered Monaro's (400hp)

What about 600hp at the wheels? The gearing on my VZ CV8 is still too high and I think would benefit from shorter ratios. Any ideas short of changing the gearbox?

No point, just do proper headers etc.
Ideally an otrcai too. Nobody mods to stock level!

We dont supply a kit of standard parts BUT we supply better parts in our "Performance pac"

Prices are on the web site ....www.wortec.co.uk

And all parts are available supply only if you are handy with the spaners

I'll recommend a wortec tune. It woke up my 5.7 vxr. Catback gives loads of burble and pop pleasure too lol

I recommend you get your car put on a dyno and get an expert to tune a few choice modifications.

I'm sure that wasn't the first thought that crossed the mind of that BMW driver behind you the other day
