Well I had the other cai at SRR last year, I doubt I will have time to do anything else before this years event and at least the fan will be in front of the filter this time...................we will see if there is any difference.

Im still running the stock one at present, went back to stock for the new setup.
Now mafless again, but still running same intake for now.
By way of interest on a 102kpa day I was at 95kpa under WOT, therefore the stock induction system is s
te. Though maybe not as bad with the stock engine.
7kpa is a direct loss of around 6% power. Plus the stock intake on the motorway is 10*C hotter than Ambient, whereas the otrcai is only 6* hotter. (ie) 40% better.
Blah blah, otrcai's are good. You have the honor of being member number 2 to have one. Those ones do look stock in appearance.

Not when the tune is right. Engine temp shouldnt be affected much if at all.I think your throttle response will be due to the close proximity of the maf over the original location. Airflow changes are measured immediately rather than a little later on. Thats my guess anyway.

The MAF has much less airflow resolution than SD, what it does have admittedly is that ability to compensate more "easily" for air temp/density as it measures it directly. SD can still do that, but requires the tuner to know what they are doing and adjust the charge blending filter as its a calculated value.
(ie) If you are lazy use the maf, if you want max power and response go mafless. SD is linear, while MAF is not linear therefore at low and high rpm it loses resolution. In addition in the mid 400g/sec airflow range it simply runs out. All you high HP SC blokes are simply fueling based on RPM at that point, airflow becomes largely irrelevant to your fueling calculations. Yes it works, but its not ideal by any means.
