Warranty work ... or lack of ...
Discussion
Well guys I managed to the car booked into my local VXR dealer in Darlo and they were looking into the following ....
Flaking door handles
Cracked bumper (tiny cracks) around 1 parking sensor
Paint removed under the spoiler where it rubs
After being looking at today Les (bodyshop manager) has come back stating that the rear passenger wing edge of my car has been blown over, good job but more than likely done to cover a scratch on the bumper, this may be the cause of the small crack.
So due to this they won't be able to fix the spoiler or small cracks. The cracks I can understand, but the spoiler? really?
Plus Vaux have come back and said they have only ever allowed warranty work on flaking handles for the first owner of the car, never any other.
So I have the joys of the 1.3l 5 door corsa automatic for one more day then it's back to the 'Ro.
Haoppy witht he service I've recieved from the dealer, always fair, honest, direct and professional, howeer Vaux appear to be a litle tight, especially in relation to the handles.
I'm so narked off I'll simpyl pay out of pocket to get it all sorted.

I too was the second owner and Bellengers (sp) in Witney had to get the photos approved by Vauxhall themself to do the repar. They knew full well I was the 2nd owner
Ditto. Bellingers in Wantage. Photo's to VX and it got approved. I was the 2nd owner and I bought it from Bellingers so it was all very clear.

No, Vauxhall are lying. I was the second owner of my car and the handles were replaced with no quibble. You can quote my number plate: FE06 JWJ (6.0 VXR) so you have some proof.
I was the 2nd owner of mine (first registered to Vauxhall, purchased with 1800 miles up) and also had the handles done under warranty.
HOWEVER.....I also fell foul of duff brake syndrome. My brakes were shot to bits after 7500 miles, and Vauxhall refused to cover them on warranty. I have lost count of how many times I've written to them, and I also took a straw poll on here and found the ~75% of owners had had brakes replaced under warranty for exactly the same syndrome, often at older age and higher mileage than mine was.
The point of this - when I quoted back to Vauxhall the results of other owners' experiences re warranty, they refused to discuss or consider this and hid behind the Data Protection Act saying that they couldn't discuss other people's cases.
Vauxhall have lost any future custom from me as a result. Their customer service section don't know their arses from their elbows. Oh, and Greens "mixed up" my old brakes, which I specifically asked them to retain, wih some other sets thus preventing me from taking it any further. Not that I'm suggesting any sort of conspiracy between dealers and the factory; of course I'm not.
As a brief aside - s
te brakes replaced at 7500, car now at 32000, so covered 25000 on same replacement set with no apparent significant wear......and they say the original set were not faulty?I have logged a complaint with GM, however due to Mike Robson (area warranty rep) already casting his eyes over the issue the guy on the phone said you can log it but it will go no further!
And the system states that FE06 JWJ DID NOT HAVE the claim authorised and you were rejected! Some someone is incorrect
I don't know what to think ... GM are playing silly buggers.

I may well do that Stig, I may well do that. It's not the cash that bothers me it's simply the attitude of "go away, shoo, bzzz, bog off" because you ask them do carry out their word.
Arse cakes.

Seriously? Thats pretty low of them! They were definately done, by greens in holborough. Maybe greens did it out of their own pocket as i bought the car from them? Doubt it though as they never mentioned it!And the system states that FE06 JWJ DID NOT HAVE the claim authorised and you were rejected! Some someone is incorrect

I also had new pads and discs under warranty all around, but i think this was picked up by the network q warranty which guarantees brakes and clutch for 20k miles/1year post purchase.
If you take it further and need me to sign anything i don't mind :-)
