Seems there are more VXR8's for sale now on PH than VXR's...

Yep, they were not as popular for some reason.
I think VXR dealers had to buy one, then couldnt sell them, hence lots hanging around.
Nice bargains for some. You can definately get one under £20k now.

Its because the Monaro's shape as a coupe is much better to look at.

LS3 didn't help either - most dealers offering heavy discounts on them which naturally pushed things down.

Forget what the price is being advertised on pistonheads - I had mine listed before xmas and the best "serious" offer was 16k. Decided in the end not to bother and keep the car.

Another factor is the tax changes - VXR's are generally pre 06 so don't fall foul of the new tax paying only 200 quid ish. All VXR8's will be top bracket so have 400-455 over the next few years at least.

Personally I like the vxr8 looks and a coupe wasn't an option.
