What tyre sizes on a CV8 ?
Discussion
255's the limit and 245 for the fronts.
As a 255'er myself, not sure if any benefit (especially in the wet) of the extra 5/10mm, i'm going back to 235's when i finally find sone dry tarmac to wear mine out on.....
Cheaper cost for the 235 means you can get a more grippier tyre for same cost, so evens itself out i reckon, and you get a more stable ride.....

255 is too wide for a 8" rim IMHO. Yours might be ok at the moment but that doesn't mean it's safe.
I think 245 + decent rubber + RL traction control is probably the best option. The other risk with fitting super wide wheels is it may ruin the friendly/tail happy balance of the car. On higher power FI cars you also run the risk of breaking drive shafts.
I've got Goodyear F1s on mine and I find them a really good compromise between grip, price and wear.
