Had to happen eventually, I'm surprised it's taken this long.

That's a 4-year old car with high running costs and (to most people) a non-prestige badge, still worth about a third of its new list price. All things considered I think that's pretty good.

Sadly seems to be the way now. Monkfish's Black CV8 demo is now just under the 10k mark. Ok, high mileage, but well specced for the price.

Its a good thing I didnt buy my car with the plan to sell it, its sad to see the price drop so much. If I do ever upgrade mine it will be a R8 and then swap all the parts out of my GTS

I'm also supprised it's staken so long for the older generation of Monaros to drop below 10k, especially in the current climate. WRT actually selling them at that price Im not sure though as 10k is still a sizable amount of money and there is alot out there for that, if however you are after a nice big V8 car then thats a different story as it's a limited market place for cars like ours, not really much choice available.

WRT the monkfish car, high spec but its just the miles that put people off IMHO, not alot really especially bearing in mind the size of the lump but people still dont see past the high miles on the speedo.

Part of the reason, Roger, is that the LSX motors with their GM ecu's are easily modable by way of readily available tuning hardware and software. So you're right, anyone into big V8's and wanting to do something with them, these cars represent an ideal and reasonably priced entry point. (And I'm talking all the Holden LSX based stuff over here). However, with the relatively low numbers of cars here, I personally don't see them getting into Chav territory like those aweful ricers. (Hopefully!)

They cost to much to run to become council estate ram raiders I think. More likely to become like the Lotus Carlton, drop a little more then bottom out unless they are hanging... Im hoping anyhow!
