'04 CV8 electrochromatic rear view mirror
Discussion
Gents and Mel,
I was out in the big fish's '05 HSV VZ demonstrator yesterday while my car was being serviced and I noticed an illuminated LED in the rear view mirror. My car has never had a light illuminated in it and its ability to stop glare from headlights behind has always been rubbish; unlike the car I drove yesterday.
My question is, are the rear view mirrors the same between all Monaro's and have other 2004 CV8 owners ever noticed an LED illuminated on it? The push button switch on it doesn't seem to make any difference in its ability to darken the glare from headlights.
I've got a wiring diagram for the '04 CV8 and it looks as though the mirror is powered off the same fuse that feeds the electric mirrors and the drivers power seat module, which are working, so I suppose it could be the mirror itself.....

try shining a bright light into the sensor on the bottom of the mirror it could just be dirty.. to I was out in the big fish's '05 HSV VZ demonstrator yesterday while my car was being serviced and I noticed an illuminated LED in the rear view mirror. clen the sensor use some meths and a cotton bud
There is a used one on ebay at the moment although a bit pricey at £40 but could be a lot more from a dealer i suppose.
I would just check out the wiring first to see if there is a bad connection

A bit of an update on my mirror....
I had a bit of a prod around today and discovered that the mirror wasn't even plugged in and there wasn't a lead to be found in the plastic cover that comes out of the head liner.
However, I discovered the lead and connector tucked away under the head lining; looks like it's never been fitted.
I routed it along the plastic cover to the mirror and plugged it in and hey presto, it works!
Maybe my car was a Friday afternoon special.....
