Give the car a wash this morning, left her to run for a few mins to warm up before I set off.

Once on the road I noticed the "trac off" warning/info on the LCD dash. No matter what I do I can't get the message to go off. I've tried swapping the fog light switch over to see if it's a switch fault.

Any ideas anyone?

I've already checked in the engine bay and looked at the 35amp fuse used for EPS/TCS and it's fine.

Mr Stigmund, how would I go about doing that my good man? ..... using my phone to access the site, search takes a bit too long and returns rubbish.

you need an odbii scanner, EFI Live can do it but there are alternats for just code reading.

Whilst trying to reset my service warning I actually found a factory mode that allowed you to view, amongst other things, trouble codes. One could then look them up online I guess. I think you just hold the up and down buttons (I think) when you turn the ignition on. Keep held until the menu appears, then you can flick thru.

Amusingly there's a dash test section on there which lights up the entire dash, testing all the gauges, the LCD display and the beeper. Would be a good trick to play if someone leaves their ro unattended at a meet...

Don't worry too much, quite a number of us get this while you are driving along, one minute it is on, next it is off, sometime the T/C will work (bloody pain as it just shuts the throttle down) and sometimes it dosen't!!

The errorr does not show up on a OBD11 scan, so I like many others just live with it!

Thanks for the replies everyone, I have it going back in to Vaux next week to have my fog light loom replaced as it has rotted away!

One of my bulbs went off and when the mechanic checked it the loomed was rotten, all rusted around the connectors.

When that is being replaced I will get him to have a peek at the TC warning.

Thanks people.

Just so you know people, the fault was diagnosed as a fault brake pedal sensor, this apparently in turn stops the ABS from working as the pedals readng can't be registered by the car and therefore won't engage TC.

Darlington are ordering a replacement part, this will be fitted soon. Back to safe driving.
