Hi Folks,

Just getting ready for the midlands meet and the Ute had a flat battery. I jumped it to start and got the SRS Airbag warning. I checked the DTC's and cleared them with my hand held, but the light is still coming on.

I am thinking whatever caused my battery to go flat over night could be responsible?

2005 Ute Chev LS2 E40.

Any ideas please?

One of the causes stated in the GTO manual is:

• Battery voltage below 8 volts or above 21.2 volts

so could it be just a totaly dead battery ?

I thought it might be low voltage. But since it's recharged and I've cleared DTC's (not that this fault threw one)It's still coming on every time I turn the key.

The airbag light has to be rest with a tech2 or similar. It is a latching fault. The fault is logged in the BCM, which you doodah cant read.

Thanks for that Roger, I thought that might be the case. Do you think I may have a genuine fault with the airbag, my battery has been flat before but not thrown that error?

seems unlikely a flat battery could cause that, but you never know!

Thanks for trying Stig. I'll have to nip down to the local Vauxhall people and see how good they are with thier tech 2.

It wont matter how good they are i doubt they will be able to read it. It wont recognise the VIN as its a non uk car. I can do it if you want, but a fair trek i know.

Actually it would give me a great excuse to do some extended logging, so I'll take you up on that. Thanks Roger

Let me explain this one. I was following Mark (vxr8mark) to the meet on sunday, recording him trying to get him to rev his engine. He didn't realise. If you look carefully on the approaching island you can see a set of head lights on. I then realised it was Gareth missing the turning and "flying by" the meeting point. I then got a bit excited. WOO HOO
Not the best video i must admit but it brings it all back to mehehe
