What would you actually PAY (not what you'd put it up for) for a Monaro VXR 6.0, 56 plate, with 40k on the clock?

The mileage would knock it down, have seen them around that money with similar miles. (although do ignore me as I work in the motor trade so values on cars are different in my eyes lol)

15k is a fair price for a standard car with that sort of mileage, though tbh if I was looking at a car with that many miles I might be tempted to look at an earlier plate to avoid the 400 quid road tax - at least for another year or so. They were pretty much all built at the same time anyway - later plates just sat in a field a bit longer. As for mileage - 40k means the car is just nicely broken in - LS series engines are reputed to be good for 200k miles.

I suppose theres always going to be a difference between what an owner thinks its worth and what a potential punter is willing to pay. Been there myself many a time !!

I would say the 13K-14K quote is fair considering the mileage which is higher than most cars seen. I know the engine is only just run in and can go on for a lot longer, etc, but all depends on how many miles the new owner is going to do - could be over 80K in a couple of years if the new owner does 20K per year. I personally wouldn't mind a higher mileage car as I only do about 4-5K per year so would appreciate the saving of a couple of grand over a lower milegae one.

Whats this about a slightly earlier one being in a lower tax bracket ears

do a google search for vauxhall car valuation to find their free link to the glass' guide

it was spot on with my xtype trade in value over the weekend and will give you a price for what to expect to get for a vxr trade in which will give you your +1k retail price estimate

Thats what it said -

Vauxhall Monaro VXR
6.0 Petrol 2-door Coupe
6 Speed Manual Rear Wheel Drive
Year: 2006 56
Mileage: 40,000

Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£14600

Average condition:
£13050

Below average condition:
£11600

But I assume this would be against a new car ?

You cant get Glass's guide prices for free off the net and they dont give out 3 valuations based on condition that is either borrowing Parkers guide which is free or CAP which shouldnt be free I dont think.

I suggest you write to Vauxhall and complain about their otherwise misleading advertising about the service smile

Ive not got CAP or Glass's at home or would check the mileage but with 40k on as opposed to 12k would probs be about whats posted above.
