in case the tyre place ring me in a moment and tell me that the pothole I hit not only burst a nearly new tyre and nearly the rear tyre too but also has buckled my wheel, what sort of cost am I looking at for a replacement alloy. this is a 56 plate vxr so the 19" alloy.

hopefully i won't need one but just in case..... !!

From Vauxhall, £1000 - I sh*t you not. I was trying to get them to fork out for mine after paint started falling off them. They were all up for it until they realised how much it was going to cost. I've got a 56 plate VXR.

Edit: I didn't fork out for replacements in the end. I'm going to get the wheels repainted at some point. Ideally with something more resillant than paint made from cadbury's flake and cream cheese.

Strangely enough the news was reporting how much the recent cold snap had been costing the local council in payouts for damage to vehicles caused by pot holes.

I guess the potholes the rest of teh year must be caused by the heat/wet/etc... scratchchin

Get on to the local council, got nothing to loose, after all you pay your road tax.. and lots of it. furious
