Is this a sign the clutch is on the way out or an easy fix?

Every now and then when i engage first or reverse instead of getting a smooth pull off i find that the car will jolt slightly before biting is this something that can be adjusted or am on the look out for a new clutch.

Many thanks

I thought you were already planning a new clutch anyway?

Try getting the clutch bleed as the release assembly is not very robust unless it has clean fluid thoughout.

Get a syringe and set to work on the fluid then.

Rather than a clutch problem I'd say that is a symptom of drive line backlash. It could just be normal wear and tear in the gearbox/diff/UJs/CVs etc, but it could also indicate loose/worn diff or gearbox mounts. If you get a heavy 'clunk' when you take up the slack after reversing the torque, you're likely to damage something.
