How much to pay for an 2007 CV8
Discussion
Hi all,
I wonder if anyone out there can help me...
I'm off to see a Monaro tomorrow and am wondering how much I should be paying for it.
It's an 07 plate facelifted VZ CV8 with 26,000 on the clock...more importantly it's in black!
It's up for £16,500 from a Network Q dealer, which struck me as a touch high until I looked at Parker's and it seems okay.
So, what do you think would be reasonable for this car, assuming it's in good shape?
Many thanks, Tom.

Dealers are having a hard time replacing stock at the moment, so the bargain basement deals seem to be few and far between as they have to get max for what they have on the forecourt..
Temper that with the fact its a V8, allbeit petrol prices have reduced, should give you room to bargain.
I`d say you`ll get it for 15K

Then add my magnificent Wortec exhaust: www.pistonheads.com/sales/901158.htm

Thanks for the advice chaps, it's much appreciated. Yeah, I'm aware that it's been left on an airfield or somewhere for two years before it was registered...what a shame!
It seemed a touch overpriced to me compared to some VXRs which have been going cheaper (and still are) but the look I want with twin exhausts, the air intakes in the bonnet (and black) is perfect and all there!
By the way, would it be possible to fit twin exhausts (one either side) on an earlier model?

The fuel tank would need to be relocated into the boot. Major work and cost. We are doing one as we speak though on a GTS. If you have a choice, buy the right car to begin with.
Thanks again for all your advice...I'll post tomorrow and let you know how I get on. I've seen a nice looking silver 5.7 VXR with similar mileage in Guiseley for a bit less cash and may have a look at that one too. Single exhaust unfortunately but a lot of car (+boot) for the money.
Cheers, Tommy.

take the 5.7 vxr - join one of the most exclusive owners clubs out there - only were 50 of them imported and I'm sure a couple at least will have bitten the dust by now. big boot, most of the hsv toys and a 3.7 ratio diff to help get you down the 1/4 mile a bit faster than even the 6.0 boys.
Just got back from seeing the VZ CV8 Monaro and sadly they wouldn't budge an inch on its £16,500 price tag despite some nasty stone chips (one on the bonnet near the nostrils was particularly noticeable). The car also felt a little damp inside and there were spots of I don't know what over all the metal parts.
However, I can see now what all the fuss is about...the power was stunning and immediate while the car felt very planted...but then again I didn't push it at all!
What did disappoint me, apart from being offered a real knockdown price on my Corolla for trade-in, was the miniscule boot! Jeepers, it was tiny.
Back to the drawing board now, but I reckon I'll get more car for less money.
Thanks for all your advice...

Well, I'm sure many of you on here won't approve of what I've gone and done but here goes anyway....I've bought a Honda S2000!
I just loved it the second I got behind the wheel and it was much easier to drive than the 05 CV8 Monaro I had a drive of, and it felt 'right' from the word go. The brakes were also brilliant...
I know it's an utterly different prospect to a V8 muscle car (and it has no boot) but it was love at first drive.
So, thanks for peoople's guidance while I was looking at what I thought was my dream car!! Funny how things can turn out, eh?!
