Yeah I posted that on Camaro5. It's a shame; I was looking forward to it being a little more than 100 UK cars (LHD or otherwise) as the spec list will be pre-arranged and there will be limited colours etc.
Oh well - nothing wrong LHD either but it was engineered otherwise.
I'll skip it I expect and just head for the AMV8.

Oh heck, thats not good news at all. Mind you, as others have said, we kinda expected it.
Sorry, I generally don't do lefty cars so will have to find something else to replace the 'Ro with. But thought hey, replace the Monaro after 5 years and go for my 4th coupe.
I wonder if anyone will do a 3rd party LHD to RHD conversation ?
Cheers

Plenty if RHD Mustangs about so we'll see RHD conversions on the Camaro. Whether they're worth the money is another question.Sorry, I generally don't do lefty cars so will have to find something else to replace the 'Ro with. But thought hey, replace the Monaro after 5 years and go for my 4th coupe.

Having owned a LHD 72 Mustang and currently still have a LHD 97, I would still say RHD is highly desirable if the car is a daily driver to be used in all conditions. Also if manual, I would say auto makes it easier.
The ease of LHD to RHD conversions obviously depends on the symmetry of the mechanics and interior trim. I've certainly seen some 70s conversions which look a bit agricultural with two big motorcycle sprockets and a chain to swap the steering over. With modern airbags and all the electronics behind the dash a conversion is going to be a nightmare.

I used to own a 93 Z28 Camaro. Apart for being brilliant (and cammed) the main issues were tolls and car park barriers.
Overtaking was a little painful but with 400bhp there wasnt too much issue just to hang back a bit more and blast it. Sometimes on a left sweeping corner it was even helpful to be on the other side to get a good view of the road ahead.
However RHD is definately preferable for a relaxing daily driver. Shifting a manual right handed is interesting for a week or two.
I dont think Id buy another LHD.

At least you guys over there might have a chance to buy one, albeit LHD.
Our archaic laws here state that the car must be at least 15yo (Western Australia and Northern Territory)) or even worse, 25 or 30 yo in other states for it to remain LHD.
Conversion costs, if you can find a company that is allowed to do them, is prohibitive.
One company here is quoting $400K for a delivered RHD ZR1!
Having said that, i used to have a LHD 90 Camaro in Perth, and it never bothered me that it wasnt RHD.
No toll roads there, and the only small problem was trying to see past a semi to pass out in the bush.
Wish i still had that car.
