As you can see from the pic the paint on the plastic surrounding of the door handle has flaked off, ive touched it up a couple of times only for the paint to flake off again, because its plastic its not going to stick that well.

Anyone got any ideas what i could use to get a decent bond??

When touching it up how did you "key" the surface?

Without a key the paint just wont stick very well at all. Unfortunatly making it better often means making it look worse first.

That could be a picture of my driver's door handle. It's exactly the same!

It is a common fault if the car is under warranty, vauxhall will fix it, they did a good job on mine.

Both of mine have been replaced under warranty for the same thing.

Sadly no longer under warranty. Do you have to sand it down before touching up?

Yeah get a very fine grit and give it a bit of a rub over and slightly into the paint so that it ensures that all loose paint is gone and it provides a key'd surface for the paint to stick to.

I've always thought it was the handle itself that flaked, not the surround. There goes my arguement for the misses to be carefull opening the door!

I would suggest a decent plastics primer is required before the top goes on, sanding will help but you need something which adhires properly to the plastic first. Sure I've seen something in Halfrauds before....

Should use an etching primer on the plastic before paint.
