the utes leak as well it drips down into the speaker pod and runs though the speaker after its wet
The Monaros were stored in various places around the country , we have 7 available to us. The Monaro also went through the same protection programme as the Canada bound GTO's. So was treated to a higher degree of protection than our regular product.
The VXR8 leakages have been covered in service bulletins to the dealers , so any issues take it back for rectification.

Fair enough Stu, but will you PLEASE make sure your dealers are up to doing the job, they seem very good at making what should be a pleasurable experience owning one of these fantistic vehicles into a complete farce.........

Behind the scenes we try and pick up some of the issues that we see on this and VXR Online and remind the dealer involved that they actually need customers to keep their business going. We do get some odd responses. My only recommendation is you find a good dealer ( off top of head Picadors , Slaters , Pentagon Derby/Burton, Bellingers , Belmont - sure there are a few more ) and stick with them. The key is the md/retail operator are enthusiasts and we know them personally.
There are a number of known issues on these cars (eg doorhandle paint on Monaros ) that you just need to be persistent with them , if you've got a problem then email me.

Nice offer Stu, but it's a sad reflection of Vauxhall/GM that people have to harass and push to get things done on their cars. Surely in this day and age you should be able to take your vehicle into any VX dealership and get polite and friendly/accomodating help. It shouldn't need the management to have a passion for that particular vehicle to ensure good service and resolution. If it does, that says your system doesn't work and that you employ a large number of unprofessional people in your dealerships.

WHS^^^^^ I wonder how many people would have bought one of these cars if they had known beforehand what a bunch of useless prats most (not all) VX 'specialist' dealers are. I'm only glad I did'nt fork out for a brand new one.

Agree with you for most of that. But we don't employ dealer staff. We train them, show them the product , get our techs to help them and generally give them as much support as we can, but they are employed by the dealer who has taken our franchise on.
I do think the management need to have a passion for the product they're selling and that filters down to everyone at the dealership. We are not alone in having good and bad dealers , and owning a high end Beemer I know there are good and bads ones of even the prestige brands.
Like I said I'll help wherever I can but I can;t change the way some dealers behave , much that I'd like to. But like I said when you do find one that does have a passion for a car like this then they do tend to go the extra mile for the enthusiast customer.

Then that means that VX need to be more rigourous and on-going with their franchise requirements and standards than they are. I think everyone realises that they are not employed directly by VX, but VX do allow them the franchise and if they are providing lackluster and dis-courteous service to customers then surely that franchise should be removed. If the dealership staff are your "customer face" to your clients (which they are) then surely the brand management types at VX should take a much more active and strict interest in the experience afforded to their customers. It's good that you are taking an interest via this site and VXR Online, people have plenty to say.

Name me one brand of automobile where you do get the aftersales care and service the buying price should reflect? IMHO there is none.
Vauxhall in this respect are no better or worse than any other manufacturer in my own experience. FWIW I have previously bought top of the range Jaguars and TBH they were the worst of the lot (re build quality and reliability) and poorest value for money.
I have heard horror stories from mates buying certain German makes and Corvettes having problems too, and you can see examples on the other forums.

I agree with that, but what does get my goat is that I have an 'approved' dealer four miles from me where I bought the r8 new (deposit paid April 07) but their service dept is something else, Autocar mag had their car serviced/warranty work done there, read their report!!, but I have to travel to Southampton to get a decent dealer, Picadors. If i had known this at the time.............................
