Any one recommend some decent car polish for my black ute and the best way to do it
Carnuaba Wax is meant to be the best, look for a high content, beart in mind it runs into the £thousands for the REALLY good stuff!
"Detailing World" keeps cropping up on here from time to time - they have full descriptions of best methods if you really want to go that far...

you need to ask questions here and average major fix your paint Detail Work cost about £200.

Mine is black as well and it took 9 hrs of work to get it gleaming! oh and a few hundred quid!
Go and read up on Detailing work but make sure you have alot of time free! Basically you need to decontaminate the paint, polish it to correct the surface finish and then wax it. I use Do-Do juice on mine to maintain the detil job I had done and now think of polish as a cutting agent! Things are very different to when I was a teenager and it has to be said alot better if you spent the time.

Roger your car is always gleaming, but then so is mine and i manage it without the need to rub any "Do-Do juice" on it. However if it works, i'll give it a go
By the way, where can i get Do-Do juice? America yeah. Have you got a link please?
If you want to do it properly you'll need a good orbital polisher.
I use a Porter Cable polisher from the USA (you'll need a transformer too), Sonus polish for removing swirl marks and Poorboys wax for shine.
This is the difference an orbital polisher can make (half & half roof picture)
All shineded up

Bonnie - see the red picture, this is the difference when you polish and when you detail. Both our cars will look shiney but I bet mines easier to re-wash for a few months once its got a few coats of "wax" on it.
As for Do-Do juice, I got mine of evil bay, not cheap but it is good stuff. Have a read up first as there are different types for dark and light paintwork. You will also need some decent size Micro fibre cloths to buff it off. (god I sound like a train spotter!)

We have plenty of microfiber cloths. Love um. I use porsche car wax(Techquipment) and i bet mine washes and buffs up just as well as yoursAs for Do-Do juice, I got mine of evil bay, not cheap but it is good stuff. Yeah for 7000 pound wanna be good maybe if we all throw in 100 pound each we will get one and they do say free refills for life so we could just keep refilling till we all get one each whos in for that
Get this lot and you'll have the startings of a really good set of detailing kit
Porter Cable 7424's are hard to get hold of in the UK and you'll need a transformer for it to work on UK voltage but this is a good alternative.

I use harley wax always an excellent shine with little effort plus no white marks and its resonably priced for a carnuba wax
