Stupid Monaro/Non-Monaro dealer situation
Discussion
Why on earth is it possible for Vauxhall to allow the situation whereby some dealers can do warranty work on Monaros, and some can't. This minor problem I have with the Cruise Control means that instead of a 5 min journey to have my local dealer (who can do VXR8 but not Monaro) look at the car, I have to make a 2 hr round trip to Warrington. More than likely that'll be 2 2hr round trips, because the first will be to diagnose, and there will no doubt be a second needed to change whatever part isn't working once it's been ordered in. So that's 4 hours driving, goodness knows how much in fuel, on my fully warranted shouldn't be costing me anything to fix Monaro.
Sorry, I had to get that off my chest lol.

if the dealer can do VXR8 cars he can do monaro's as its the same special tech. i have had these conversation's in the past with them.
basically VX don't trust all garages to work on monaro's, VXR8, hard top astra convertibles etc.
i would go back and ask to speak to the tech directly and ask if he has been monaro trained. (i bet he has been)

Basicly what they say is that it's an honour issue rather than a training issue. The way it's been described to me is that because certain dealerships invested in training and equipment for the Monaro when that arrived, they are now the only ones allowed to do any warranty work. Now that my dealer does everything for the VXR8 though, I just think it's rediculous not to include the Monaro.
