Hello from Texas
Discussion
Used to work for Siebe plc in Windsor for 10 years. Was really surprised to see so many muscle car guys in the UK! Made many life long friends in the UK and stay in touch regularly.
I have a Holden Monaro (here they are Pontiac GTO's) I have modified it about as far as I can go and still legally drive it on the streets. We are putting down over 600 Horsepower to the rear wheels and 630 Ft. Lbs. of Torque. She now weighs 500lbs less than when I drove her home the first day. Please allow a couple of pictures....anyway just wanted to join and say hello. Love to share any and all information with other fellow Holden owners.

What diet did you put her on to loose 500lbs? My wife would love to know.(as well as most of us on here) BTW welcome.
Charlie
Charlie
She weighed 4000lbs new from Pontiac. over 200lbs was worthless bracing they add to pass US
safety requirements. Steel in the sides/front/back to withstand 45mph hits. The rest were fiberglass hood (bonnets as you say
) fenders, stripped all the spare tires/jacks, trailer hitch bracing removed, skid plate was replaced with aluminum skid plate, exhaust manifold replaced with lightweight stainless headers, lightweight exhaust back, lighter wheels on and on but I think you guys get the picture. She is much stiffer and stronger than before but weighs less than a Ford Mustang. Edited by sargegto on Wednesday 18th March 15:36

Hmm another mafless tuned stroker running a 10 second quarter smile
Some sad guys here will tell you that you will go too slow mate because you havnt got forced induction.
Some of us know better though! Sometimes NA is enough.
What size engine? 408 cubes?

Yes a 408 Stroker motor. I eat turbo's and superchargers for breakfast.
Seriously most the FI guys do not spend the effort to put the power to the ground and I just walk away from them. There (as you know) is much more than just horsepower.....chassis geometry plays a key role in quickness. These NA Stroker motors are just torque monsters. She is very quick/fast.

Why did you go for an iron block, if as you have said you were on a weight saving trip? What CR did you end up with and finally did you need a spray to get the 10.88? I assume you were on drag radials.

We will find out one day when its actually back on the road but I doubt it

You doubt traction will be a problem or you doubt you'll do a 10 second 1/4?
