VXR 500 - Suspension Query

Hi All

When I ordered my VXR500 from Greens, I got it with all the toys, Cat Back Exhaust, AP Racing Brake Conversion, Rip-Shift, Adjustable racing suspension (presumably Wortec) etc.

When the suspension was put on, right from the word go, it had a 'creaky' quality about it, rather reminiscent of my first car - a Mark One Cortina. When I raised the issue of this with Kevin at Greens I was informed that it was a 'feature' of the setup of the car, so I lived with it for a while. After having the car a while longer I asked them to look at it however when I got the car back it was no different. I have heard of people with similar upgrades who have had this so called 'feature' fixed and was going to be mentioning this to Greens when taking it in for its 2 year service, only now I can't due to the demise of Greens.

Can anyone shed any light on similar experiences and how they got it resolved?

I should imagine that the Suspension Mods came with some sort of Warranty, any ideas on how if this is the case I could get the issue resolved now Greens have gone?

Any help or advice would be very gratefully received.

I would imagine that your best option would be to take it along to another Wortec retailer like Monkfish and maybe they could submit a claim to Wortec/Avo? Or confirm that it is normal.

This won't help a great deal, but when I bought mine from Greens, it had pretty much everything except the coil overs. I asked if they could be fitted as part of the deal, but I was told there was a problem with develpment, and they weren't willing to supply the kit. I wonder if this is related?

I had the original AVO set up replaced under warrenty.

Much better now.

Was this due to a similar issue, i.e. creaking?

My 500 creaked on one side at the front when new. Dropped by a Vauxhall Agent in Cheltenham and they greased the top of the front strut. Problem gone!

WHS^^^^^ Could just be the top mount not seated correctly or the bearing breaking up.
