Specifically at about 100 or so? Mine feels wobbly as hell, like it's getting airborne. Wondered if they were all like that.

I don't think my Monaro is very good in gusty crosswinds.

Tires have a big effect on Ro's for some reason.... do a search on tires and you will see what is ment. FK452's on my old 330 sport BMW were very good, on a Ro however they are diabolical! WTF....

Sadly the Camaro went to get the Monaro, but you can't have everything eh? smile

Vredestein on the front, and Pirellis on the back I think? feels like it's getting air under the car as the steering feels sloppy. Or like it needs a load of caster. Had it 4 wheel aligned about a month ago and it feels better, but still not great.

It might be worth swapping the types over front to rear to see if that's the cause. 2 pirellis are cheaper than replacing the suspension. crisisjez (amongst others) knows a bit about high speed handling , so you could always ask about his setup.

I personally think the front radius rod bushes (made of jelly babies i'm convinced) have a lot to do with this. Causes a lot of wander on the front end at speed.

Hoping this is better with poly bushes etc (hopefully i'll get round to at easter time smile )

Can't comment on VXR's but my CV8, even before the Road response pack and alignment was absolutely fine upto ahem! mph past what you are saying.
Poor tyres can cause the back end to feel "loose" at speed due to side wall issues, however I am more of the opinion you are experiencing side wind skittishness - something that scares the hell out of me in the Ro, but doesn't bother me in any other car at the same speed!I was being blown all over the M4 today in the Zafira, but it still felt planted. Weird eh?!
Also I think the VXR's have slightly harder/lower springs than the CV8's, so if anything that should help - unless the shocks aren't coping properly?

The std car geometry is very much a bit of a lottery, its as if the cars are just slung together and stuck on a boat and then not properly PDI`d (Mine was still sporting the tie down bracket when I took delivery)
This can mean that the car could be well out of alignment, a 4 car track would be well worth while.
One of my very first posts was about swing at speed, resolved with a RR pack I may add.
Tyres are very critical on theis car, I only used Pirelli`s as I found them to give the best stability (not grip).
Set up correctly and with suitable tyres, you can be confident at any speed IMO.

Mine was very skitty at hgher speeds - scary actually. That was with Pirellis front and back. Then had Falkens on the back and it was the same.

Had the Road Response Pack done and it was slightly better - but by no means good.

Put some Continental Sport Contact 3's on the front and it now handles as it should. Stable at higher speed and far more predictable handling overall. Massive difference.

Tyres clearly seem to be the answer, and on my car the Conti's are the boys....

Mine seems absolutely fine at any speed. Dunlops front, Michelins back. However, I'm not sure mine hasn't had some suspension tweaks, but eaxctly what I'm not sure. I bought it off a finance company following a repossession, so it's previous history is a bit sketchy. It deffo has AP's, Rippy and performance pack, so it may well have RR pack too, but someone who knows what they're looking at would need to have a look at it.

Mine seems fine at all speeds and I've got brand new Falken 452s all round (£78.50 each from Camskill). Then again I dont ever drive at 10/10ths or anywhere near that like some of the guys on here seem to, so I'm not worried about what they're like at or near the limit. For me to pay upwards of £200 for each tyre just is'nt financially viable, sorry. boxedin
