New Owner Saying Hello!!!
Discussion
Hey Guys.
After owning a whole host of high specification Japanese sports cars... I can proudly say that I am now the new owner of a 2005 Vauxhall Monaro VXR.
Collected the car on Saturday just gone from WAY up North... and oh boy... what a car. I can safely say that I am now converted from Jap Tuner to V8 muscle.
VXR is in Phantom Black, 28k miles, and has the following parts fitted to it: -
Harrop Supercharger
Intercooler Kit
Wortec Headers
Wortec Sports CATS
Wortec CAT-back exhaust
High Flow Air Filter
Re-map To Suit
AP Racing Brakes All Round
Rip-Shifter
Fast Road Springs
All work carried out by Monkfish. I am located in Nottingham, so will more than likely get to know the guys at Monkfish real well!
Just wanted to say hi to you all first off - and look forward to being an active member on the forum.

welcome to forum from someone who lives about 3 miles from where you collected the car. got to laugh when you said way up north - to a lot of the guys on here that describes where you stay never mind way up here. Ross didnt have car very long so I never got to see it but it looked a cracker from the photos so enjoy it.

Welcome to the club, and you will be bringing it down to the Dyno day on Saturday and the Drag day on the 16th no doubt?????

I'm just down the A60 from you.
Hi all.
Yes it was the car off of Piston-heads (Ross's car).
I am very very happy with it.
I will definitely be coming to some events... I will have to search for more information on them all and get myself down.
My previous car was a 500bhp+ R33 Skyline GTR, used to the power - before that I had a Mazda RX7 TT and DC5 Integra Type R to name a few.
But... the VXR has oodles more torque and the power delivery is mind-blowing. It feels more or less impossible to stall and just makes me realise how cr*p turbo lag really is! Wonderful driving experience... but I haven't switched off the Traction Control JUST yet.
The drive back down was amazing. Brilliant weather and the roads/view down the West of the UK is great.
Got most of the parts on it that I would have wanted. But may go down the quick steering rack route. Not sure yet. And maybe upgrade the bushes to poly ones.
I also spotted another car last-night that may be a forum member... it was a very nice 2007 Holden HSV pick-up in Phantom Black - parked up in the Derby Odeon car park. Anyone going to own up?
I will definitely get some pictures taken and put up.
Cheers,
Kyle.

Welcome, that looks like a bargain! There are a few cars changing hands at the moment, most being kept for only a few months before reappearing in the classifieds. I guess it must be panic selling given the current economic climate? I consider myself lucky that I can afford to keep mine as a second car.

Bl
dy hell, fair play! Wish I could afford to have my R8 Carbon as a second car...I have no choice but to use and abuse the poor beast on a daily basis
and then keep filling it up with superjuice
