I'm currently in the process of installing a ripshifter to my 04 cv8 monaro. I have a few questions though before i can continue.

1. Have i removed the old shifter correctly, and have i removed all the bolts
2. Does the o-ring on top of the gearbox where the ripshifter fits stay or do i remove it, the one in the first photo
3. Are 4 bolts used to secure the ripshifter
4. Do the big two bolts infront of where the old shifter was, need removing second photo

thanks

Did you read the instructions?

Looks like you have more to pull off to me.

yeah but they were not that clear as they kept refering to 4 hex bolts on the old shifter but mine never had any. Looking at it now I think i need to remove the two front big torx bolts but i was unsure about the o-ring on the old shifter as the instructions say nothing about it.

They should be allen bolts, not torx, 6mm hex iirc. If you can't get an allen key on them you may need to remove the 4 gearbox crossmember bolts to drop the 'box a couple of inches. And they will be very tight.

Are the bolts your refering to the ones that look rusty in the second photo, look hard to get to?
Thanks

Finally finished installing the ripshifter, it feels sooo much better. I had to swap the front allen bolts with standard hex so i could tighten them up from under the car. I havent been out for a drive yet only moved it on the driveway as ive got a private plate and need to ring the insurance company up to let them know. I now understand why the standard linkage was so long and hard to shift at times, the ripshifter is alot easier. Thanks for all the help.
