vxr monaro rear boot spoiler

my rear spoiler is well ! spoiling the paint work on the bootlid everytime i close it or should i say wife is when she slams the bootlid (why have women no mechanical sympathy!!!!)
its doing it right in the centre,ive taken the bootlid inner cover and i can see inside boot the bolts at the ends of spoiler but in the middle where the problem is there are 2 holes with nothing in there,

1,should there be any screws there in the centre?
2,what else holds the spoiler on?
3,is it glued on too as im going to remove spoiler to fix problem and do a bit of paint touching in?

Relatively common fault. The nut comes off the centre bolt. The other hole is for the brake light wires. Its not glued either. Best get it sorted as the wing can snap off at the side bolts if its not fixed in the centre.

Quite a common problem, some have claimed on warrenty some have managed to polish out the marks and reattach the spoiler . Mine was a little to deep to polish out so use some black decal tape to tidy it up (see old thread below)

thanks guys ,good info! i will remove and try and buff the scratches out ,if not i will try some vinyl tape in silver from sign writers,
i think spoiler isnt supported very well so i guess its one of those many faults i have to live with!

Should be quite solid once you have all the nuts in place
