thats a real shame that Vauxhall are pulling out, they've been involved for a long time with the touring cars. I wondered if they might have been taking the new Astra for next season, guess that questions been answered. Will still go along to as many events as possible though as its still a great day out.

One thing I will miss is the drivers lounge, was somewhere to get out the rain/sun for a while and gave her indoors somewhere to sit in relative comfort while I was out tramping round circuits. Certainly made the events much more accessible for her.

Lets hope its not the end of the line for 888 Racing and that they can continue to be involved - will give us someone to support for a start

As for free tickets - yeah they were/are very much appreciated but in the grand scheme of things a 20-25 quid ticket doesnt make me decide to go or not to an event as any we go to usually run up a bill of 400-500 quid with fuel, hotels, meals etc Really good gesture on Vauxhall's part but I actually found the reserved parking areas far more beneficial as they allow us to park up together. As well as good banter it also provides an added level of security for the vehicles as there are always folk around to keep an eye on the cars.

Read in the FT yesterday that GM are looking for investee partners in the European operations e.g Opel. In the mean time they are going to have to make some massive cutbacks as GM are facing the possibility chapter 11 in the states.
