Same thing has happened to mine. It was fine until Autoglass fitted a new windscreen after mine cracked out from a stone chip. They broke the scuttle plate during fitting (the black plastic thing the rubber strip sits against)and had to order a new one. I also asked them to fit another windscreen as the one they fitted was not the same as the original and had a different colour sun strip which was a light green (my original was a deep blue/green). They finally managed to source another screen through Vauxhall and fit it. Since then, the seal has come away from the glass again just like your pic.
I haven't done anything about it yet, but was thinking of calling them back up to complain. It may be worth contacting them yourself, or going through your insurer to get it repaired.
I don't think water can get into the car as the glass is bonded to the frame. I am worried however, that water and crap will sit in there and rot it away causing it to come away further. The last thing I want is it to fly off when I'm bombing up the motorway.

womb ferret - now thats a new one on me, must remember that one! Oh and washing a car with those nails - bound to scratch the paintwork (btw Bonnie I'm not referring to the paint on the nails
)
Onto the original question though - they dont normally put seals where they're not needed so I'd be checking for water penetration and probably be out with some clear silicon sealer to stick it back down until a more permanent repair could be done. That way at least if there's a 6 month wait for the part it shouldn't get any worse.

Thanks for the response mate. I'll look in to warranty work from VX I haven't done anything about it yet, but was thinking of calling them back up to complain. It may be worth contacting them yourself, or going through your insurer to get it repaired.

or try finding somewhere to reseal it. As theres nothing wrong with the windscreen i cant call auto glass. Silcone Grease? I've looked it up and it seems to be more of a lube than a sticky sealant. Will it hold it in place?
I feels wrong to be questioning one of the monkfish gurus
. but I just want to be sure. Mine was stuck down, but obviously has lifted off because it doesn't naturally fit flush and I'm concerned that unless it is stuck down it will lift off again.

Bit of silicone grease and just push it back on. Its just a cosmetic strip.
WHS... or a dab of Superglue if it wont pinch clip on anymore. Lots of cars get loose bits of trim with time so no need to worry...
Fake or not... nice nails!

BTW did you see the post for your attention?
